One would be hard-pressed to find a team more anxious and relieved to get back into the football swing of things than the Michigan State Spartans. After collecting just three wins in 2016 followed up with a rather eventful — though not the kind of events programs hope for — offseason, all of that will be put to bed come September 2 in East Lansing.

How the Spartans will fare this year remains to be seen. Some believe that head coach Mark Dantonio is on the hot seat to start the season. Dantonio believes this team has the makings of another miracle season, much like the 2013 team that reached the Rose Bowl.

If that’s the case, the Big Ten needs to be prepared for a return of the Spartan empire in 2017 and beyond.
