Heading into the 2017 season, despite being ranked in the top 15 in most publications, Michigan was expected to take a step back due to the loss of a plethora of starters from both the offense and the defense.

But since the Wolverines absolutely dominated the Florida Gators in their first game of the season, they are starting to gain some major respect across the country. In fact, in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, Michigan checks in at No. 7, up four spots from their preseason rank of No. 11.

Well, the latest point spreads for some of UM’s biggest games have been updated and they are certainly getting more respect from the sports books than they were in the preseason.

Michigan is currently listed as a 17-point favorite when they take on Michigan State at the Big House on Oct. 7.

In other big games, the Wolverines are now listed as 4.5-point underdogs against both at Penn State (Oct. 21) and vs. Ohio State (Nov. 25) and they are a 3-point underdog at Wisconsin (Nov. 18). All of those lines are way down from what they were prior to the start of the season.

After defeating Cincinnati 36-14 in a sloppy performance on Saturday, the 2-0 Wolverines now set their sights on Air Force (1-0), who they will play on this coming Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

Air Force won the only game they played 62-0 over VMI. Michigan is currently listed as a 25.5 point favorite in the game.

What do you think, Nation? Can Michigan make a serious run at the Big Ten East title or will their youth catch up to them when they play the big dogs in the conference?
