Last Sunday, the Detroit Lions came from behind to beat the Arizona Cardinals 35-23 in front of an extremely loud crowd at Ford Field. Now, in Week 2 of the 2017 regular season, the Lions will have to hit the road to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

According to reports, the Lions have signed offensive tackle Storm Norton to the practice squad and have released 2017 seventh-round draft pick, defensive end Pat O’Connor.

Norton, who was signed by the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent following the draft, is back with the team after recently being cut so they could sign punter Jeff Locke.

O’Connor, a defensive end out of Eastern Michigan, was selected by the Lions in the seventh-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Unfortunately for O’Connor, he was outplayed by both Jeremiah Valoaga and Alex Barrett in the preseason, therefore he was left off the 53-man roster.

The Giants were manhandled by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football but you can be sure they will be more than ready to get back to .500 with a win over the Lions.

Ironically, this will be the second time in the last five regular season games that the Lions and Giants will play each other. The last time they met was in Week 15 of the 2016 season when New York took advantage of their home field advantage to defeat Detroit 17-6.

In that game, Matthew Stafford, who was playing with an injured finger, threw for 273 yards but was unable to get the Lions into the end zone.
