On Monday night, the Detroit Lions handled their business on the road against the New York Giants. The team had big plays in all three phases of the game and it certainly was the definition of a “team victory.”

Following the big win to move to 2-0 on the season, head coach Jim Caldwell and his players took the time to honor Lions owner Martha Ford, who turned 92 on Saturday.

Watch as Caldwell invites Mrs. Ford into the locker room and then leads the team as they sing, “Happy Birthday” to their owner.

Though this was a HUGE early season win for the Lions, Caldwell knows how important it is to start getting ready for their next opponent, the Atlanta Falcons.

“Now, next phase. We move on,” Caldwell told his team. “We can celebrate on the airplane, have a good time, that kind of thing. But we have to get focused on this next opponent. It’s going to be a pretty tough one at home.”

The Lions will host the undefeated Falcons on Sunday at Ford Field.

So far this season, the Falcons have gone on the road to beat the Chicago Bears by a score of 23-17 and then returned home and took care of business by easily disposing of the Green Bay Packers 34-23. After blowing a huge lead in the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots, some thought it would be tough for the Falcons to bounce back but that does not seem to be the case.

What do you think, Nation? Can OUR Detroit Lions make it three in a row to start off the 2017 season? One thing is for sure, it will not be easy.
