We may only be heading into Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season but the Detroit Lions hype train is already starting to gain some major traction.

One site that really likes the Lions chances for the remainder of the season is Football Outsiders. With all of the Week 2 games in the books, the site has posted the updated chances of each team going undefeated, winning the conference, and winning the Super Bowl, to name a few.

Well, after defeating the New York Giants 24-10 on Monday Night Football, the 2-0 Lions are not only listed as the favorite to win the NFC North but as the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself.

As you can see, Football Outsiders gives OUR Detroit Lions a 15.7% chance of representing the NFC in the Super Bowl and a 7.2% chance of winning the whole thing! Those percentages just so happen to be the best out of any other team in the NFC, including the red-hot Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons, according to the website, have a 12.3% chance of returning to the Super Bowl and a 5.5% chance of redeeming themselves from last season’s debacle.

It is interesting to note that the Pittsburgh Steelers are an overwhelming favorite not only to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl (32.4%) but to hoist the Lombardi Trophy (20.3%) when all is said and done. The defending champion New England Patriots are given a 6.9% chance of repeating as Super Bowl Champions.

In case you are curious about the chances of the Lions meeting the Patriots in the Super Bowl, Football Outsiders gives that matchup, which they call “The Romney Bowl,” a 2% chance of happening.

Before getting too excited and betting your house on the Lions going to the Super Bowl, keep in mind that these percentages are sure to change drastically on a week to week basis, especially early on in the season.

That being said, it sure is fun to dream!
