The Detroit Red Wings fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins in their second pre-season game of 2017 by a final score of 6-5 in overtime. Though there were few regulars in the lineup for Detroit, the game was still a spirited back-and-forth affair that featured plenty of offense. Detroit got two goals from Gus Nyquist, as well as tallies from Darren Helm, Matt Lorito and Ben Street.

Jimmy Howard and Tom McCollum split time in net. The Red Wings play Chicago tonight at the United Center before returning home for their first pre-season game at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night against Boston.
