Players and coaches are supposed to have each other’s backs, right? Well, that does not seem to be the case with the Detroit Lions, at least not this time.
On Wednesday, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen took a shot at Lions left tackle Greg Robinson, calling him “lazy.”
#Vikings DE Everson Griffen on Lions T Greg Robinson: "To be honest, he's kind of lazy. He gets beat on the inside He's got to compete more"

Ok, first of all, not many fans or “football experts” would give Robinson a good grade (or even a passing grade) based on his play at left tackle this season. That being said, one would think that his coaches would do their best to defend him.
Well, on Thursday, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter were asked about Everson’s comments and their replies may surprise you.
Jim Caldwell on if Greg Robinson is lazy & what his work habits are like: "I’m not responding to anything anybody else said about him."

Cooter also did not defend Robinson when asked if he's lazy: "I’m not going down the hype path, so you guys can write whatever you want."

Hopefully, Robinson does not read the press clippings because if he does, he will read about two of his coaches who failed to defend him when they had the chance.
