The latest AP College Football Top 25 Poll was just released, and the Big Ten now has five teams included in the rankings.
Following last night’s loss to Michigan State, we all knew Michigan would take a fall and that MSU would make their way into the Top 25 and that is exactly what happened.
No. 21 Michigan State joins No. 17 Michigan, No. 9 Ohio State, No. 7 Wisconsin, and No. 3 Penn State as the five Big Ten teams in the latest poll.
Alabama (6-0, 3-0 SEC) defeated but did not dominate Texas A&M, 27-19, and Clemson (6-0, 4-0 ACC) doubled-up Wake Forest 28-14 to remain at 1-2, while former No. 3 Oklahoma took a tumble nine spots to No. 12 following their shocking 38-31 loss at home to Iowa State. The top-four right now are Alabama, Clemson, Penn State and Georgia. The Nittany Lions held Northwestern scoreless until garbage time in a 31-7 road win, and the Bulldogs literally ran all over Vanderbilt, 45-14.
No. 5 Washington (6-0, 3-0 Pac-12) is the flag-bearer for the Pac-12 conference with in-state rival No. 8 Washington State (6-0, 3-0) right behind them. No. 6 TCU (5-0, 2-0 Big-12) is now the Big-12 representative after outlasting then-No. 23 West Virginia 31-24.
Michigan State (4-1, 2-0 BigTen) leads a group of four teams making the leap into the Top-25 that were previously unranked. No. 23 Stanford (4-2, 3-1 Pac-12) jumps back into the Top-25 after defeating then-No. 20 Utah 23-20 on the road, continuing their see-saw season that saw them ranked as high as No. 14 before back-to-back losses to then-No. 6 USC, and then-unranked San Diego State, knocked them out of the rankings. San Diego State (6-0, 2-0 Mountain West) is now No. 19 following their 41-10 beatdown of UNLV. No. 24 Texas Tech (4-1, 1-1 Big-12) makes an appearance after dismantling Kansas 65-19. And No. 25 Navy (5-0) jumps into the Top-25 after surviving a furious comeback by Air Force, 48-45.
The BigTen leads the Power-5 Conferences with five teams in the Top-25, SEC has three, Pac-12 has four, Big-12 has four, and ACC has four.
