In 2017, Nick Castellanos did a fine job of hitting the baseball (.272 with 26 home runs and 101 RBIs), but his inability to field the ball at third base on a regular basis forced the Detroit Tigers to move him to the outfield towards the end of the season.

But at least Nick still has a job as the same cannot be said for his younger brother, Ryan. On

On Tuesday, the Tigers released pitcher Ryan Castellanos after he spent the 2017 season playing for the Connecticut Tigers.

Castellanos just did not show the Tigers enough to keep him around for another season after he posted a 4.12 ERA in 14 starts with Connecticut in 2017.

The 23-year-old was originally drafted by the Tigers in the 25th round of the 2015 MLB Draft.
