Not only were the Detroit Lions beaten badly by the New Orleans Saints in Week 6 but multiple players were banged up or injured along the way.

One of those players was Golden Tate, who injured his right shoulder in the second half. According to reports, he is expected to miss multiple weeks of action before returning to the Lions offense.

On Saturday, Tate was in South Bend to watch Notre Dame host USC. While there, he posted a video to his Instagram that caught many Lions fans off guard. The video showed Tate attending a tailgate function while wearing a sling on his right arm.

Check it this photo from the video.

The Lions are taking advantage of their Week 7 bye to get healthy but it seems like Tate could need more time than that to heal his shoulder.

Later on in the day, Tate posted a photo of himself and his wife during the game. As you can see, he is not wearing the sling in that photo, which leads us to believe he was just wearing it as a preventative measure.

So far in 2017, Tate leads the Lions with 36 catches for 363 yards. He has also scored two touchdowns on the season. Since coming to Detroit in 2014, he has 316 catches for 3,584 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Lions will return to action, with or without Tate, next week when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. They will have their work cut out for them if they want to pass the 4-3 Green Bay Packers and catch the 5-2 Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North.
