If you happened to catch the Detroit Lions debacle on against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, you certainly noticed that the Lions have a big issue with scoring touchdowns in the red zone. The Lions were forced to kick a field goal time and time again as they could not figure out how to get the ball into the end zone, despite racking up 482 yards of offense.

So far in 2017, the Lions have only scored a touchdown on 45% of their trips to the red zone, which places them 25th in the NFL.

Enter former Lions tight end “Big” Joe Fauria, who tweeted out what can only be described as a “not-so-cryptic” message which was clearly directed at his former team.

Fauria played in 23 games with the Lions from 2013-2014, including all 16 games in 2013. In that season, he caught 18 passes for 207 yards and seven touchdowns and was certainly a nice red zone threat for the Lions offense. During that season, the Lions red zone offense ranked No. 4 in the entire league with a 62.5% touchdown rate.

With rumors circulating around that former first-round pick Eric Ebron is going to be traded, the Lions could be in the market for another tight end sooner than later.
