According to reports, Detroit could be soon revealed as the location of WrestleMania 35, which would mark the third time that the home of the Detroit Lions has hosted professional wrestling’s biggest event.

The report also listed Philadelphia and New York as other possibilities. But despite the report, the Detroit Sports Commission, responsible for submitting bids for major sporting events in the city, said they’ve only submitted bids for WrestleMania 33 and 34, not 35.

Should Ford Field once again host the event, Little Caesars Arena would also host several events if the schedule from WrestleMania 33 in Orlando is any indication. LCA would most likely host the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on the Friday before WrestleMania, an NXT TakeOver event on Saturday, Monday Night RAW on Monday and SmackDown Live on Tuesday.

WrestleMania 3 (1987) and 23 (2007) were held at the Pontiac Silverdome and Ford Field, respectively. WrestleMania 3 became known for the all-time classic matchups between Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant, as well as “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. Additionally, the event held the record for highest attendance at WrestleMania, draing 93,173 fans.

WrestleMania 23 also featured several entertaining bouts, including the Battle Of The Billionaires Hair vs. Hair between Umaga, who represented Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley, who represented Donald Trump, who is now the President of the United States. Additionally, Batista vs. The Undertaker, and John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels.

One of the key reasons Detroit could be selected is due to the proximity to the Canadian border, which would enable many Canadians to attend.

The final announcement for the location for WrestleMania 35 is expected to come in December.
