3 Keys to a Detroit Lions win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football

Here is what the Lions need to do to defeat the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The Detroit Lions (3-4) are coming off of a disappointing 20-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, but now they must put that behind them and turn their focus to their division rival, the Green Bay Packers (4-3). The Packers will be without their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers due to injury, which is a huge plus for the Lions. If the Lions want to get a big divisional win against their biggest rival, they must do these three things.

Expose Brett Hundley

Brett Hundley, the new starting quarterback for the Packers in place of Rodgers, hasn’t had much experience playing at the professional level, which is a plus for Detroit. If the Lions are to come out on top, they must expose Hundley’s weaknesses and his inexperience. If the defense can put pressure on him and force him to make bad decisions, then the Lions will have a good chance to walk away from Lambeau Field with a victory in hand.

Stop Davante Adams

Davante Adams, the leading receiver for the Packers, has been a key piece to the Packers offense so far this season. He has 351 reception yards and five touchdowns on the season. If the Lions defensive backs can find a way to take Adams out of the equation, then it will not only leave them with one less player to worry about, but it will force Hundley to take more time to look for other targets.

Be more efficient in the red zone

In the loss to the Steelers, the Lions went a pathetic 0 for 5 in the red zone. If they want any chance of beating the Packers on Monday night, they can’t repeat that offensive ineptitude. If they can’t get it done, they can forget about not only this game, but any chance at winning the division.
