What a week it was for Justin Verlander.

First, he and his Houston Astros teammates won the World Series by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to three in what was an epic matchup. He followed that up by flying to Italy, where he married Kate Upton.

On Monday, Verlander tweeted out the following photo from the wedding with the message, “Happy wife happy life! What an amazing beginning to our journey together! @kateupton #justmarried.”

Upton also posted the same photo on her Instagram account with the message, ““I feel so lucky that I got to marry my best friend!! @justinverlander Thank you to our family and friends for making this weekend so fun and magical!”

Well, it sounds like the two lovebirds are off to a great start, we wish them the best.

It has certainly been quite a week for Justin Verlander.

First, the former Detroit Tigers ace won the World Series with the Houston Astros after he and his teammates defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to three. Now, Verlander has married supermodel Kate Upton in Italy.

According to TMZ, Verlander and Upton were married on Saturday.

From TMZ:

The famous supermodel and pitcher were both beaming after saying their “I dos” Saturday at an old church at the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort in Italy. The wedding party looked pretty small — close friends and family.

Just after winning Game 7, news broke that Verlander would be skipping the Astros victory parade in Houston because he already had plans to get married in Italy.
