Here's what we can take away from Detroit's HUGE win at Lambeau Field.

The Detroit Lions traveled to Lambeau Field to take on their NFC North rival the Green Bay Packers. Detroit had dropped their previous three games going into the matchup, while Green Bay had lost their last two games since MVP-caliber quarterback Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season.

The Lions were looking to get a rare win at Lambeau Field against a Rodgers-less Packer team, and they did it. They defeated the Green Bay Packers 30-17 and ended their losing skid. With the Lions now in second place in the NFC North, here are three takeaways from the big win that got them there:

GRADUAL IMPROVEMENT IN RED ZONE

After going a pathetic 0 for 5 in the red zone against the Steelers last Sunday, it seems that the Lions have addressed their issues. They went 50 percent in the red zone on Monday Night Football, scoring touchdowns on two of their four trips inside the Packers-20. While this is an improvement from last week, there is still room for more.

If the Lions want to make a serious run at the division crown, then their going to have to do something to make their red zone offense better.

STAFFORD SHINES

Yet again, Matthew Stafford had an outstanding game for the Lions, going 26/33 for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Week after week, this guy goes out there and does whatever he can to get the win. Without him behind center, the Lions would not be where they are today.

This was his third straight game with over 300 yards passing and second straight without any picks. He continues to prove week in and week out that he is the guy who will lead the Detroit Lions to the promise land.

1-2 PUNCH ON THE OUTSIDE

Golden Tate and Marvin Jones Jr. both had amazing games against the Packers on Monday Night Football. This duo combined for 14 catches and 220 yards receiving last night; Jones was responsible for two of the team’s three touchdowns in the game. Both of these guys are a big reason why the Lions beat the Packers on the road.

Tate and Jones continue to carry the offense alongside franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford. The more that these to get involved in the offense, the better chance Detroit has of winning a game, and it showed today. Having two receivers have over 100 yards receiving and is a great accomplishment for not only them but for the team.
