The Detroit Pistons decided to make things interesting against the Atlanta Hawks despite leading by as many as 19 points. Thank goodness the clutch 2015-2016 Reggie Jackson appears to be back.

The Pistons and Hawks battled back and forth going basket for basket in the closing minutes of the game. Then with ice in his veins, Reggie Jackson stepped up and knocked down not one, but two HUGE threes in the last minute of the game to slam the door shut on the Hawks late comeback push. The dagger came with 21 seconds left, after some pretty ball handling then pulling up from deep.

Jackson’s late-game heroics were reminiscent of his 2015-2016 campaign when he was torching teams in the fourth quarter. More recently, Jackson has taken some heat for his hero ball, particularly last year when the shots were not falling as often. Tonight was a different story as Jackson took control late in the game to prevent the Hawks from completing their comeback.

Jackson finished the night with 22 points and six assists.

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Andre Drummond stepped up to the free throw line in a tied game with one minute left and knocked down BOTH free throws. This was a small part of Andre’s monster night in which he had a career-high in assists.

The Pistons now sit at 9-3 on the season, while the Hawks fell to 2-10. They appear to have found an identity on offense and defense, and additionally they’ve also found someone confident and willing to take the last shot.
