During Tennessee State’s 23-20 victory over Southeast Missouri, TSU strength coach T.J. Greenstone was attacked by defensive end Latrelle Lee. Lee, 6-foot-2 240 pounds, who has only played in two games this year, hits Greenstone twice in the head before Greenstone falls to the ground.

WARNING! VIOLENT CONTENT-

Lee, a senior from Dothan, Alabama, started two games this season for TSU but didn’t play Saturday. He made two starts this year, registering 18 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The 22-year-old senior and Criminal Justice major was dismissed from the team by head coach Rod Reed on Saturday and then expelled from school on Monday, the Tennessean reports.

Greenstone, a former Vanderbilt defensive tackle from 2007-11, is the strength and conditioning coach for Tennessee State, whose job is more suited for the weight room than on the field. However, during the games, his job is to keep players from getting too close to the sidelines to not incur penalties. As the video shows, he was doing just that before Lee attacked him.

What’s even more disturbing is that not one player rushed in to stop the attack or help the coach, they literally just stood there and watched the assault take place. While the attack is bad enough, the fact that no one even tries to step in and stop it before it goes too far is inexcusable in my mind. This is a microcosm of how our society as a whole responds to violence. No one steps in, no one steps up, everyone just stands around and grabs their phones if there is time to get video. This is a perfect example of how we as a people need to change our ways and start helping one another. Just my two cents.
