University of Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters was injured during the second half of the loss to the Wisconsin Badgers. The redshirt freshman was taken off of the field on a rescue cart while his teammates took a knee around him. At the time the details of the injury were unknown. Speculation included shoulder separation, a broken collarbone, or a head injury.

Some reporting came forth during the game regarding the treatment Peters was receiving immediately after he left the field. Perhaps, this situation is fresh in the mind of college football fans due to the recent dust-up over substandard injury care at Purdue University.

After the game, some clarification was brought to the issue by head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Peters was replaced by John O’Korn after the injury. The offense never recovered and sputtered down the stretch en route to a 24-10 loss. More on this injury situation as it develops.

3 keys to Lions mauling the Bearcubs

The Detroit Lions (5-4) head to Soldier Field on Sunday to take on the Chicago Bears (3-6) in an NFC North matchup. The Lions have won back-to-back games against the Cleveland Browns and the Green Bay Packers and are looking to keep pace in the race for the NFC North division crown. While the Bears may be the worst team in the division, the Lions can’t overlook them in this game. If the Detroit Lions want to keep their division championship hopes alive, then they must do these three things to defeat the Chicago Bears.

ROAR LOUD AND OFTEN

Detroit cannot start the game off slow like they did against the Browns last week. They must come out fast and strong in this game to set the tone early. A slow start is only going to hurt the Lions… again. They cannot keep relying on Matthew Stafford to lead a comeback in every single game. Detroit has to come out and get some points on their first drive and force Chicago to go three-and-out on their first drive of the game. If the Lions can start the game fast, both offensively and defensively, then they will have a very good chance to win.
