For a long time, the NFL stood for the Not Fun League. Among many other things, part of this was a consequence of their ridiculously strict rules against players expressing themselves. The NFL upset a lot of their players last year with their excessive fines. Odell Beckham Jr. was constantly caught in the middle of this no matter how meaningful his cleats were.
Things have changed a lot since last year in the No Fun League. Not only are players actually allowed to celebrate touchdown this year, but players have gained freedom to wear special cleats. This Sunday, the Detroit Lions plan to use this to its full potential as they each have some pretty special cleats ready for Sunday.
I must say some of these are awesome.
Check out the cleats that will be taking the field Sunday.

The Lions cleats aren’t just snazzy, they all have a purpose. The players and coaches are participating in “My Cause My Cleats” as all the players and coaches will be representing different charities and foundations ranging from “Chad Tough” (Former Michigan players Graham Glasgow and Jake Rudock) to “Las Vegas Strong” (Nevada-native Miles Killebrew).

I strongly encourage you to take a look at all the cleats and shoes the players and coaches will wear this Sunday. Props to the NFL for allowing this. I suspect there will be mostly positive results and reactions to these cleats as it will help bring much-needed attention to some awesome causes.
The fans, charities, and players are all winners here. Nike, Adidas, and Under Armor all did marvelous work to the delight of the players. The Lions looked absolutely thrilled opening their Christmas present wrapped shoes.
Feeling a lot like Christmas with our #MyCauseMyCleats unboxing. #OnePride🎁👟

In the words of the great Deion Sanders, “Look good, play good.” Hopefully, the Lions will take this to heart and get a much-needed win vs. the Ravens on Sunday.
