An absolutely terrifying scene occurred at the NC State-SC State basketball game as a South Carolina State basketball player reportedly collapsed on the bench. The player was not in the game when he reportedly fell unconscious before being resuscitated.
A fair warning in advance that this video is extremely emotional as players, coaches, and fans were finding out what was happening on the floor. The game was initially stopped for an injury on the court but the attention quickly shifted to the much more serious situation.
Here's our perspective of the events that took place at PNC Arena…players are now back on the court warming up…no confirmation on player name yet from school, but saying he WAS responsive when leaving court. #WRAL pic.twitter.com/cx81qg0bvP

The hero of the day appears to be the South Carolina State trainer who was able to revive the fallen player through CPR.

Tyvoris Solomon was the player that went down. Solomon is a senior guard from Johns Island, South Carolina. He reportedly regained consciousness before leaving the floor and being taken to the hospital. Solomon started the game and played a total four minutes.
Moments like this help put in perspective the humane aspect of these athletes. It is very easy to get caught up in the performance of players and disregard the bigger picture.
I cannot tell from my seat but it appears like CPR was performed. I can hear moans from South Carolina State players. This is much more serious than basketball.

South Carolina State head coach Murray Garvin left the game to be with his senior guard at the hospital.
South Carolina State coach Murray Garvin, at the hospital with Ty Solomon, texted ESPN: “Ty is awake and responding. He says to thank everyone for all the prayers.” Garvin also said that Solomon's heart stopped and he was resuscitated by South Carolina State's athletic trainer.

The players eventually came back to finish the game after a 40-minute delay. They were all greeted with a standing ovation. NC State went on to win the game, 103-71.
Hopefully, doctors will be able to find the reason for his heart stoppage and help Solomon avoid these scares in the future. For now, thoughts and prayers go out to Solomon’s family and teammates.
