Shortly after the announcement, the point spread for the game was released and according to Betonline.ag, Michigan is an 8-point point favorite over South Carolina. Note: Updated from the original post that had South Carolina listed as the favorite.

Michigan (8-4) had a disappointing regular season as they lost to Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2013 Outback Bowl, which was won by South Carolina, 33-28.
