Detroit Red Wings forward Filip Zadina is heading back to North America.
HC Oceláři Třinec announced today that he’s returning in order to let the Red Wings reevaluate a preexisting injury. The announcement came through on HC Oceláři Třinec’s Twitter feed. The translation:
“Filip Zadina underwent an examination after an injury he suffered before the start of the season. That’s why he didn’t participate in the derby today. Even so, his parent company @DetroitRedWings terminated his work with us on yesterday, ”said Václav Varaďa after the match. @telhcz”
Zadina had been loaned to the Czech League by the Red Wings while particulars regarding the 2020-21 NHL Season were worked out, and he tallied eight goals and six assists in 17 games.
Training camps for the NHL’s non-playoff teams last season could begin in late December, with the season tentatively scheduled to begin January 13.
