On Saturday, Adam Schefter broke the news that the Detroit Lions are likely to start QB Tim Boyle on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns as Jared Goff is still dealing with an oblique injury.
Well, now Schefter is reporting that Boyle could also be the starter on Thanksgiving Day against the Chicago Bears and possibly beyond that.
From Schefter:
It is considered unlikely that Goff will be recovered in enough time for Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears, leaving Boyle with the opportunity to make another start for the Lions.
The Lions haven’t addressed what would happen if Boyle were to play well, but there is a belief around the league that Detroit’s quarterback situation for this season and beyond is very much in flux.
It will be interesting to see how Boyle, who has never started and NFL game, performs as the Lions starter.
