Adrian Peterson has words for Lions’ coaching staff after being replaced by D’Andre Swift

Just prior to kick off this past Sunday, reports surfaced that the Detroit Lions were going to give rookie running back D’Andre Swift his first career start in the NFL.

As we know, Swift took the opportunity and ran with it as he clearly looked like the man for the job against the Washington Football team.

But how does veteran RB Adrian Peterson feel about being replaced as the Lions starting running back by a rookie?

Well, Peterson was asked about that on Friday and his response was classic.

“It was more so what this kid is doing and what we’re doing offensively as far as play calling. It made sense to me. I actually, when I was told (Swift was starting), I was like, ‘you guys shoulda did this two, three weeks ago (laughs),’ you know?”

Adrian Peterson is a class act and always has been, which is exactly why I gushed over the Lions signing him, even if he was just going to be a good role model for the younger guys.

Oh, and by the way, Peterson will be back in the starting saddle this coming Sunday as D’Andre Swift will miss the Lions game vs. the Panthers with a brain injury (concussion).

Let us know what you think!
