Adrian Peterson meets with media for first time as Detroit Lion, talks about passing Barry Sanders

Following Thursday’s practice, Adrian Peterson met with the media for the first time since signing with the Detroit Lions.

During the meeting, Peterson spoke about quite a bit, including:

-Darrell Bevell’s “advanced” playbook

-His “welcome to the league” hit which came from former Chicago Bears LB Brian Urlacher.

-Being excited about playing the Vikings twice this season.

-Juking Darius Slay (did not mention him by name) for long game-opening touchdown run.

Matthew Stafford and how “blessed” he is as a quarterback.

-The Lions RB room, including D’Andre Swift being “special”

-About being drawn to Detroit because of Darrell Bevell

-What the Lions are asking him to do in the offense. “A lot”
