When Adrian Peterson signed with the Detroit Lions just prior to the start of the 2020 season, he did not imagine that the team would be sitting at 5-10 with one game remaining on the schedule.
But, that is exactly what has happened and all signs are pointing towards a rebuild taking place in the coming years.
On Thursday, Peterson spoke to the media and he said he would love to be part of the Lions in 2021 as he believes they have the pieces to go all the way.
“If the offer is extended, I'll definitely come back. … I really believe we have what it takes to go all the way.”
But he also added that being part of a rebuild is something he is not interested in.
“Yeah, that's not something that's appealing to me.”
