The Detroit Lions head to the desert in desperate need of a victory following two consecutive losses to open their 2020 campaign.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals have fared just the opposite so far, winning their first two games and finding themselves tied atop the NFC West.
However, the Cardinals aren’t going to be taking the Lions lightly, even despite Detroit’s injuries on their offensive line.

“Just like any other team, you have to respect them,” Cardinals DT Jordan Phillips told azcardinals.com. “You have to show up and play hard and it doesn’t matter who’s out there. We’re all professionals and we all have a job to do.”
According to Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury, his team’s offense will be facing a “good plan”, courtesy of Detroit’s Matt Patricia.
“They still continue to challenge you with multiple looks,” Kingsbury said. “A lot of man coverage, so it looks very similar to me to what they’ve been doing. They’re going to make you earn every yard. Each week have a plan to try and take away what you do best and that’s kind of a signature of Matt’s (Patricia) defense back to New England. He’s a tremendous defensive mind and he’s always going to have a good plan.”
The Lions will also be facing former teammate Devon Kennard, who signed with the Cardinals after being released this offseason. According to Kingsbury, Kennard has been “tremendous” with Arizona, and he’ll be excited this Sunday.
“He’s been tremendous,” Kingsbury said of Kennard. “He was part of a huge goal line stop Week 1 on fourth-and-1 that really won the game for us. Great human being, great in the locker room. His work habits, professionalism, all the things you want as a leader in your team, and so we couldn’t be more pleased with what we’ve seen from Devon and I know he’ll be excited about this game on Sunday.”
The Lions and Cardinals get underway from State Farm Stadium at 4:25 EST on Sunday.
