When the Detroit Lions selected Aidan Hutchinson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, they did so with the hope that he will eventually dominate opposing offensive lines.
Well, Hutchinson is going to get a taste of what should be a very good offensive line when he gets to go up against his own teammates every day in practice.
Back in May, Lions head coach Dan Campbell talked about the built-in advantage Hutchinson will have as he faces the likes of Penei Sewell and Frank Ragnow each day in practice.
“I think this is where Hutch is gonna have a big advantage, is the fact that he’s gonna have to go against Sewell and Decker every day,” Campbell said. “I think that’s huge. I think that’ll play more into his development than a lot of other things. So, I feel like he’s going to be going against quality tackles, so that in and of itself is, I think, can [accelerate] his progression.”

Aidan Hutchinson praises Detroit Lions’ offensive line
On Thursday, Hutchinson spoke to reporters and he told them he believes the Lions have one of the best offensive lines in the entire league.
“I think we’ve got one of the best offensive lines in the league if you look at all five starters, those guys are studs,” Hutchinson said. “Getting able to go up against them, especially when we get to camp, one-on-ones and just team reps against those guys will be super beneficial to me. I practice against them in here, it sets the bar pretty high.”
Hutchinson did note that he will have to wait until training camp to go against the Lions’ starting offensive line but that he will continue to be a sponge leading up to that point.
“I’m just trying to soak in as much info as I can before the season starts, and then we can just play without thinking.
“That’s the goal.”
