When the Detroit Lions selected Aidan Hutchinson with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the expectation was that he would come in and make an immediate impact. Well, after a slow start to his rookie season, the haters came out in droves to call Hutchinson a bust. Fast forward to the present, and Hutchinson has done a great job of shutting those haters up as he has quickly emerged as a force on the Lions' defense. On Wednesday, Hutchinson won an award for his Week 11 performance against the New York Giants.
What award did Aidan Hutchinson win?
On Sunday, Hutchinson intercepted the second pass of his young career, while also recovering a fumble during the Lions' 31-18 win over the Giants. He also had three tackles and a pass defended during the game.
For his efforts, Hutchinson has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week!

On the season, Hutchinson now has 31 tackles (four for loss), 5.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 10 QB hits, a fumble recovery, and 2 passes defended.
Heading into the 2022 season, no Lions' rookie had ever won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award, and they now have had two rookies win the award in the past three weeks, as S Kerby Joseph won the award in Week 9.
Congrats to Aidan Hutchinson!
