Detroit Tigers pitcher Matthew Boyd exited his start in Kansas City on Monday after 2⅓ innings due to left arm discomfort.
Today, skipper A.J. Hinch gave a clearer idea of when the Tigers can expect him back.
After meeting with specialists and doctors, it has been determined Boyd will be on the shelf at least through the MLB All-Star break, which is July 12-15.
The somewhat ominous visit with Dr. Neal ElAttrache this week was evidently one of several visits with doctors and specialists for Boyd.
The good news is that it is apparently nothing structural in the elbow. https://t.co/trIoLrkBQ0
