The Detroit Tigers have dropped nine of their past ten games that have seen their offensive numbers completely dry up.
At 7-15, their record is considerably worse than through 22 games last season when they featured a surprising 12-12 mark.
According to manager A.J. Hinch, the only people who can end their streak of futility is themselves.
“The beautiful part of a stretch is that there’s a beginning and there’s an end. We haven’t reached the end yet. And that’s why we continue to have to answer these questions. The only people that can end it are in the clubhouse. And today is another opportunity to end the day better than we started.
“It’s not going to get any better by coming to work in a bad mindset or pouting. What’s going to make it better is going out and beating the Royals today.”
Following this series against Kansas City, the Tigers will move on to face another division rival from the south side of Chicago for the first time in 2021 for a 3-game set beginning on Tuesday night.
