With a .350 career on-base average, Grossman will bring desperately needed on-base improvement to A.J. Hinch’s squad. Having began his MLB career with the Houston Astros, this will be Grossman’s second go-around with Hinch.
Following the finalization of the deal, both Grossman and GM Al Avila released statements:
In addition to the Astros, Grossman has also suited up for the Minnesota Twins and, most recently, Oakland Athletics over eight years.
