The Detroit Lions’ defense has been one of the biggest storylines of the young season, and a key contributor expects to stay on the field in Week 4.
On Wednesday, defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad popped up on the team’s estimated injury report, raising some eyebrows. But according to Detroit Football Network’s Justin Rogers, Muhammad said he still expects to play Sunday.

That’s welcome news for Detroit after Muhammad delivered a breakout performance in the Lions’ 38-30 win over the Ravens on Monday Night Football. The veteran pass rusher piled up 4 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 3 quarterback hits, and 2 tackles for loss, helping fuel a defensive effort that tied Lamar Jackson’s career high for sacks in a single game.
Following the victory, Muhammad reflected on his journey and the opportunity he has seized in Detroit:
“About a year ago, I was home, I was on the couch. So when you get an opportunity, you make sure you take advantage of it.”
The Lions face the Cleveland Browns next, and keeping Muhammad on the field should give Detroit’s defensive front even more momentum as they look to build on a statement win.
