Alfredo Simon will return to the bump on Tuesday to open up the 3 game series with the Oakland A’s. Simon has been a remarkable surprise for the Tigers, and to date, has been the teams best pitcher this season posting a 5-2 record with a 2.67 ERA in 9 starts and 57 1/3 innings.
Simon has been away from the team since last Tuesday as he was placed on bereavement leave to visit his father, who passed away in the Dominican Republic.
There’s no doubt Simon will be pitching with a heavy heart in his first start since his father’s passing. Hopefully the Tiger faithful and the team can pick Simon up and give him the support he needs to get the win.
