Amon-Ra St. Brown passes Calvin Johnson for Detroit Lions record

UPDATE:

Detroit Lions rookie WR Amon-Ra St. Brown already broke one team record on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers and now he has another.

Just moments ago, St. Brown caught his 8th pass of the day, pushing him past the great Calvin Johnson for most consecutive games in a row with 8 or more catches. This is St. Brown’s 6th-straight game with 8 or more catches.

FROM EARLIER:

On Sunday afternoon, Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown will play in the final game of his rookie season and it sure has been a special one in terms of his production.

In fact, if all goes well, St. Brown will break a couple of Lions records by the time the Lions are finished playing the Green Bay Packers.

The first record that will almost certainly fall is the Lions’ rookie record for receiving yards in a season.

St. Brown needs just 15 yards on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers to break Roy Williams’ franchise record for most receiving yards by a rookie. Brown currently has 803 yards and the record is 817.

The second record that St. Brown could set on Sunday is the most consecutive games in Lions history with 8 catches or more. If he catches 8 passes or more against the Packers, St. Brown will break a tie with the great Calvin Johnson.

Good luck, Amon!
