Well… now we know what the league thought of the whole “did he or didn’t he?” situation involving Amon-Ra St. Brown and that viral clip from the Commanders game.
According to the NFL’s official fine report, the Detroit Lions star wideout has been hit with a $12,172 penalty for Unnecessary Roughness, specifically listed as “striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing.”

Yep, that’s league-speak for: “We think you punched someone.”

The Moment That Started It All
The clip in question made the rounds earlier this week after Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne was ejected for swinging at St. Brown. Washington players later claimed Payne was retaliating for an earlier hit from the Lions receiver.
The thing is, Lions fans know exactly what kind of player Amon-Ra St. Brown is. Tough? Always. Physical? Absolutely. Cheap shots? Not his style.
Why This Matters (and Why It Doesn’t)
If you’re Detroit, this is a footnote — not a crisis.
There’s no suspension. No escalating discipline. Just a fine and a fan base that probably loves him even more now that the league thinks he’s got some dog in him.
Detroit heads into Week 11 with a massive matchup against the Eagles, and St. Brown is expected to play a major role… fine or no fine.
And if Philly players want to bring up the “punch” storyline?
Well… they probably shouldn’t poke a guy who already blocks like a pulling guard.
