Andre Drummond kicks it in Grand Rapids, bombs a couple shots from half court (Video)

The West Michigan basketball scene caught a taste of NBA action on Saturday evening, and it was good.

With Brandon Jennings making his rehab debut with the Grand Rapids Drive, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy and a handful of Pistons teammates made the trip to the Delta Plex in support of Jennings’ first return to the hardwood since tearing his Achilles tendon last January.

Among those in attendance: Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond, the latter of which arrived sporting what appeared to be a hoody/cape/trench coat hybrid with “Fly” emblazoned across the back. Seriously though:

At halftime, Drummond then took center stage, doubling down on his half-court bomb against the Celtics last week by connecting on two of eight attempts in front of the 6,420 in attendance at the Delta Plex, including this heave with the halftime clock winding down:

And one more time, with volume-checking, robot-fighting slow motion sound effects to boot:

While still struggling to find his stroke from the free throw line, it’s been a productive week for Drummond from 47 feet and beyond. He connected on just the second three-pointer of his four-year NBA career on Wednesday when he pulled up for this half-court heave against the Celtics:

Andre Drummond raining down from half-court , Brandon Jennings delivering the play of the night barely two minutes in, rolling out extra bleachers to accommodate an influx of observers… yep, it was a pretty epic night for Grand Rapids basketball.
