The team may have been the first to go 0-16, and yes, the Lions have only won once in the playoffs in 65 years, but there’s momentum here, and the fans can feel it. The Washington Commanders rode a rookie QB to the Conference Championship, catching the Lions off-guard after their Wild Card bye.

This will only be helped by the return and, hopefully, full season run out of Aidan Hutchinson, who highlighted the injury blight that struck the defence as the season progresses. If the team can wrangle some extra explosiveness on the edge – possibly with a trade for Myles Garrett – they’ll be even more formidable.
The Detroit Lions are in an exceedingly good place as the 2025 season draws ever nearer, with the fans ready and raring for another step forward and the team looking as good as any other contender in the NFL.
