According to a report from Steve Wyche, former Los Angeles Rams CB coach Aubrey Pleasant has accepted a position to be the Detroit Lions secondary coach/passing game coordinator.

According to a report from Sam Wyche, Los Angeles Rams CB coach Aubrey Pleasant will interview the Detroit Lions to be their secondary coach.

From Rams:

Aubrey Pleasant is in his fourth season with the Los Angeles Rams as the cornerbacks coach in 2020.

In 2019, Pleasant managed a cornerbacks room that experienced changes in personnel throughout the season. Pleasant integrated Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey to L.A.’s defensive secondary after the Rams acquired Ramsey via trade. Ramsey recorded one interception in nine games with L.A. and was named to the NFC Pro Bowl team.

Pleasant also worked with former Rams CB Marcus Peters, who made the Pro Bowl for the AFC after being traded to Baltimore during the season. He also help developed CBs Troy Hill and Darious Williams, who each finished the season with two interceptions. Seven of L.A.’s 13 interceptions in 2019 came from cornerbacks.

Pleasant played an integral role in implementing defensive coordinator Wade Phillips’ scheme in his first two seasons in L.A. With the guidance of Pleasant, five different cornerbacks have recorded at least two interceptions in a season, including Marcus Peters (3) and Troy Hill (2) in 2018.
