Will Matthew Stafford be the starting quarterback for the Detroit Lions when the 2021 regular season rolls around?
That is a question that we all want an answer to but that answer will not come until the team hires a new head coach and general manager.
On Wednesday, Barry Sanders joined the Rich Eisen Show and he was asked about whether or not Stafford should be part of the Lions plan moving forward.
“I would assume that it does involve Matthew, but that’s me. I don’t know how some other coach may see that situation, but I still think he’s playing at a tremendously high level.”
As far a what the Lions are looking for in a head coach, Barry said it has to be somebody that can command the locker room.
“Someone who says, ‘I’d love the opportunity of trying Detroit a winner.’ Who sees it as an opportunity, who has a proven record. And you have to be able to command that locker room.”
