The Michigan State Spartans lost out on what would have been a big addition to their 2021 recruiting class.
Jamari Buddin decided to commit to the Penn State Nittany Lions, turning down the Spartans as well as Minnesota and Purdue.
Considered an top 25 outside linebacker by recruiting sites, Buddin had been a priority for head coach Mel Tucker and the Spartans coaching staff, who have now unfortunately lost two potential recruits to Penn State after Detroit King’s Jaylen Reed.
Recruiting the Detroit area has been an area of focus for Tucker, who replaced long-tenured coach Mark Dantonio earlier this year.
