Blake Griffin, Dwane Casey explain rough play vs. Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks put the finishing touches on their sixth consecutive regular season win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night, earning the 127-103 victory.

But what most will remember from this game is the chippiness that ensued during the second half. Pistons forward Blake Griffin nudged reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and then stepped over him, leading to tempers flaring between players and plenty of jawing at one another.

“That’s going to happen in a competitive game,” head coach Dwane Casey said afterwards. “If anything that should get you more focused, more riled up, more ready to compete, be physical and finish at the rim. All those things you have to do in a competitive game like that, a physical game.”

“That’s just the level of physicality we had to play with and just how hard you have to play,” Griffin said. “They’re at the top of the league for a reason. It was a good test for us and the second time we’ve played them on the second night of a back-to-back.”

All in all, there were six technical fouls called.
