The start of the NBA season is like Christmas to some, and the Detroit Pistons just received a lump of coal in their stocking.
Shams Charania is reporting that all-star power forward Blake Griffin will miss time through the first week of November, which would be the first nine games of the Pistons season.

This is a blow to the Pistons, and although the Pistons have been hinting at limiting wear and tear on Griffin this year, this probably is not what they had in mind.
It would best serve the Pistons if this is just a blip on the radar as opposed to a sign of things to come. The team is intent on making the playoffs for the second straight year, and Griffin is by far the team’s best and most important player.
The first week of November timeline would give Griffin the possible return date of November 8th against the Pacers.
