Bleacher Report shows unbelievable disrespect to the Detroit Pistons and Tayshaun Prince

Are you serious, Bleacher Report?

The Detroit Pistons pulled off one of the all-time upsets in the 2004 NBA Finals, defeating the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers in five games to bring home their first title since they went back to back in 1989 and 1990.

But in order to have gotten a shot at the Lakers, they had to take down their division rival Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. And they did so – thanks in large part to arguably the greatest block in NBA playoff history, courtesy of Tayshaun Prince.

With the Pistons leading a tight Game 2 69-67, future Hall of Famer Reggie Miller stole the ball and appeared to have an easy breakaway layup to tie the score. That’s when Prince seemingly came out of nowhere:

However, a recent poll by Bleacher Report completely omits this moment in their quest to find the greatest block in NBA playoff history. Their nominees?

The fact that Prince’s legendary block on Miller wasn’t included in their choices throws us right back to 2004 when Detroit was considered the underdog.

That’s okay – it’s a role that worked out pretty well.
