The Denver Broncos pulled off a thrilling 33–30 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday to advance to the AFC Championship Game, but the win came at a massive cost.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix suffered a season-ending broken bone in his ankle during the game. Despite the injury, Nix remarkably played every snap and helped lead Denver to the dramatic overtime win.

Nix finished the night completing 26 of 46 passes for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, while also adding 29 rushing yards on 12 carries. His toughness kept the Broncos alive, but the injury means his postseason is now over.

With Nix sidelined, Denver’s starting quarterback for next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game will be Jarrett Stidham, with Sam Ehlinger serving as the backup.

The Broncos will host the winner of Sunday’s matchup between the Houston Texans and New England Patriots, but they will now have to try to reach the Super Bowl without the quarterback who got them there.
