Bobby Ryan scores in debut for 1st Detroit Red Wings goal of new season [VIDEO]

After being shut out in their first game of the season against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Detroit Red Wings were looking to make sure they’d not end up with a goose-egg this time around.

Enter Bobby Ryan.

Last year’s Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy winner, who signed with the Red Wings as a free-agent, scored in his Red Wings debut to put Detroit on the scoresheet for the first time in 2020-21.

Ryan, who was left alone in the slot, took a centering pass from Filip Zadina and beat goaltender Petr Mrazek:

In 833 career games with the Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators, Ryan has tallied 254 goals and 555 career points.
