A week ago or so, I wrote a piece titled, “Book it! The Detroit Lions WILL select this player in the 1st Round.” In that piece, I correctly predicted that Bob Quinn would select tight end T.J. Hockenson out of Iowa.
Well, as we now know, that is exactly what happened.

So, rather than cashing in my chips, I have decided to let them ride by going further out on a limb by predicting who I believe the Lions will select in the 2nd Round.
Remember, this is not necessarily the player I WANT the Lions to select in the 2nd Round, it is the player I think the WILL select.
So, without further ado…
With the No. 43 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select offensive lineman Dalton Risner out of Kansas State.

Risner, who started during his final three seasons last KSU, is big, physical, and smart and he fits in with what Quinn likes in his offensive lineman. Though he played both guard and tackle in college, the Lions would likely use him primarily at guard.
In case you are wondering who I WANT the Lions to take in the 2nd Round, it is cornerback David Long out of Michigan. Long would be the perfect compliment to Darius Slay and to say the Lions need another cornerback is an understatement.
Nation, what do you think the Lions will do when they are on the clock with the No. 43 pick?
