Game Notes:
Matt Boyd was looking for a way to forget his last outing in Chicago; today, that start was put in the rear-view mirror. Boyd was spectacular through six innings of work, striking out six and giving up only one hit. The Tigers offense was powered once again by James McCann, who became the first Tigers catcher to hit three home runs in the team’s first seven games. Francisco Rodriguez made it interesting in the ninth, but he did what he usually does and came through with a save. The Tigers and Twins are now tied atop the American League Central standings and will rematch tomorrow at 1:10 EST. Jordan Zimmermann will take on Kyle Gibson.
