When Bob Quinn was hired to be the Detroit Lions general manager, the roster he inherited was one that was on the verge of getting over the hump and finally winning a playoff game.
But, during his time with the Lions, Quinn proceeded to trash the roster, eventually leaving the franchise with the train wreck of a team that went a combined 8-23-1 over his last two seasons.
Mercifully, the Lions FINALLY fired Quinn and they have hired Brad Holmes to fix the mess.
Holmes, who was formerly the Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting, impressed the Lions’ brass during his initial virtual interview and the rest is history.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Holmes has a “bold” plan for the Lions roster.

“One big moment in the interview came when Holmes was asked by the Detroit brass to go through each of the four GMs and five head coaches he’d worked with, and identify one thing he learned from each of them, and one he didn’t like that he’d do differently than them. One by one, Holmes calmly and logically knocked those out, then gave a cutting, honest assessment of the Lions roster, and a bold plan for what he’d do if he landed the job.”
