BREAKING: Detroit Lions to sign free agent quarterback

According to a report from Adam Caplan, the Detroit Lions are signing free-agent quarterback Luis Perez.

Perez, who is 25, played quarterback for the Birmingham Iron of the AAF. In eight games with Iron, Perez completed 52.3% of his passes for 1,460 yards and five touchdowns, while throwing six interceptions.

In 2017, Perez won the Harlon Hill Award (D-II Heisman Trophy) while playing for Texas A&M-Commerce.
